European Nude Photography Festival 2016

If there's one theme common to all the arts, it is the nude. The human body is an object of endless fascination. It lies at the heart of the European Nude Photography Festival (FEPN) in Arles.
The nude — and above all the body — in the spotlight
Launched in Arles in 2001 by Bruno Rédarès and Bernard Minier, the European Nude Photography Festival presents itself as the only major photographic event in France — and indeed in Europe — on the theme of the nude, and more broadly the body.

Completely independent from the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie, the Festival is now part of Arles's cultural landscape and each year presents more than forty artists from around the world. Attendance approaches 15,000 visitors. After a few years of partnerships with exhibitions at Les Baux de Provence, the Festival is once again focusing on Arles, the photographic capital known the world over.
The exhibitions are presented in the most emblematic venues at the heart of the city. Events, workshops, talks and meet-ups are organised throughout the festival, reinforcing its friendly spirit. Over these fifteen years the Festival has kept moving forward, featuring major renowned photographers such as Jean-François Bauret, Georges Tourdjman, Uwe Ommer, , … while also offering an eclectic selection — a more contemporary approach to the body with authorial work spotlighting young talent.
Focus on China
A new era is opening: a cultural exchange with China that gives the Festival a highly international dimension. From this 16th edition onwards, the partnership welcomes around ten Chinese photographers, and in return allows Festival exhibitions to be shown in the great Chinese cities.
