After the success of several Kickstarter campaigns, Lomography returns to the crowdfunding platform to launch a new film: the LomoChrome Metropolis XR. And it's already a hit.

Metropolis is a colour negative film, available in 35 mm, 120, 110 and 16 mm. On Kickstarter, the $100,000 goal has already been exceeded with more than 20 days left in the campaign. Delivery is scheduled for February 2020.

Far from realistic-rendering films, Metropolis has character: grain and a clear-cut desaturation of colours.

A controlled, well-present grain. Desaturated colours.

Metropolis's specifications

  • Film type: Colour negative
  • Film development: Standard C-41
  • Available formats:
    • 35 mm (24×36)
    • 120 (medium format)
    • 110 (small format)
    • 16 mm
  • Film sensitivity: Extended sensitivity 100–400 ISO
  • Colour balance: Daylight-balanced (5500K)
  • Grain: Fine grain for faithful rendering
  • Look: Deep blacks, high dynamic range, and darkened colour tones for contrasty exposures

The Kickstarter campaign offers plenty of pledge options, from $35 (for 5 rolls of 110) up to $1,250 (for 25 rolls of 120 or 35 and a trip to Vienna!).
