World Press and Swiss Press Photo 2016

The Swiss National Museum, at Château de Prangins, is hosting two magnificent exhibitions with press photography as their common thread.
Global or Swiss, press photography takes centre stage in Switzerland, and more particularly at Château de Prangins.
World Press Photo 2016
The award-winning images of "World Press Photo 16" were selected from 83,000 photos taken by 5,775 photojournalists and documentary photographers from 128 countries! Very powerful images that tell of war, the exodus of thousands of people, even individual fates. These photographs draw attention to a sometimes very harsh reality, but they also evoke hope — like Warren Richardson's photograph, Photo of the Year 2015.
Swiss Press Photo 2016
Château de Prangins presents the 25th edition of the "Swiss Press Photo" exhibition devoted to the best Swiss press photos of 2015. The refugee influx, climate change and the FIFA scandal are among the subjects covered by photojournalism last year. Other more unexpected themes — the youth around Chernobyl or extreme sports — feature in the selection of images on view from 18 November 2016 to 26 February 2017.
