In France, mountain rescue is provided by various public services. Some police officers of Republican Security Companies (CRS) ensure this particular mission.
On the drop zone of l’Alpe d’Huez, the CRS works jointly with the crews of the helicopters of the Civil Security and the doctors of the SAMU.
