Colmar hospital facing Covid-19

December 2019 - June 2020

December 2019 - June 2020

When the Covid-19 epidemic reached France, it was the east of the country that was hit hard. The Colmar hospital is one of the hardest hit establishments. In the book Tears and Courage, Doctor Yannick Gottwalles, Head of the Emergency Department at Colmar Hospital, and Nicolas Beaumont, tell how the women and men of the hospital, but also partners and "ordinary citizens" enabled the hospital to operate and care for patients. Thanks to an unprecedented story, based on direct testimonies of this major crisis, and images taken at the heart of the action, Larmes et courage is intended for every citizen, curious to know, from the inside, the functioning of a hospital faced with an unprecedented crisis. Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industrys standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. "Paradoxically", in this book, Nicolas Beaumont essentially collected the testimonies and wrote the texts. Most of the photographs are the work of:

  • Nathalie Naffzger / Hôpitaux Civils de Colmar
  • Hervé Kielwasser / Journal de l'Alsace

Larmes et courage - Nos vies derrière les masques is for sale on the website of Baobab éditions This book was made possible through the support of the Fondation Anne-Marie & Roger Dreyfus and the Fondation de France Grand Est.
