he International Life Saving Federation is composed of national aquatic lifesaving organisations from around the world. Every two years the International Life Saving Federation organises the Lifesaving World Championships (LWC). In 2014 the competition take place in Montpellier (France) from september 14th to 29th. Lifesaving competitions consist of a variety of competitions to further develop and demonstrate lifesaving skills, fitness and motivation. There are five types of competitions : Beach events, Pool events, Simulated Emergency Response Competition (SERC), Surf Boat Event, Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Events.
