Lime One is a compact light meter designed by the German engineer Johannes Heberlein.
Like the Reveni light meter we talked about a few months ago, the Lime One lightmeter was funded by a campaign on Kickstarter. A little bigger than its Canadian competitor, the Lime One was designed to overcome the malfunction of light meters from old cameras or their total absence.
In 2018, the German engineer started doing film photography. After using his smartphone as a light meter, he decided to develop a dedicated light meter, adaptable to different cameras. After a successful first prototype, he decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign to offer a finished product.
Here is the presentation video used during his campaign on Kickstarter. A campaign crowned with success, since it generated 72,453 € against 25,000 € expected.
Big highlight of this accessory, compared to a hand-held light meter, its size (43×30.5×15 mm) and its weight of 16g. It’s a bit bigger and heavier than the Reveni, but its side wheel seems to be more intuitive to use than the buttons on the Reveni.

The Lime One is available in Silver or Black for € 129. It is also possible to acquire a protective box and brackets to mount the Lime One on different old cameras.
